Mushrooms are a fantastic meat replacement and make for a nutritious, savory, and filling burger. Paired with fresh, juicy vegetables, these mushroom burgers make for the perfect summer barbecue meal.
Thanks to Patti Fielding for creating and sharing this recipe for one of the best meatless burger recipes out there!
Ingredients
1/2 Pound of Fat Moon Mushrooms, sliced (any kind, but Shiitake are best)
- Splash of Bragg Liquid Aminos
- 1 Cup Shredded Carrots
- 1 Cup Alfalfa Sprouts
- 1 Cup Monterey Jack Cheese
- 1 Cup Crushed Avocado
Seasoning, to taste: Spike, Garlic Powder, Paprika
Directions
Sauté mushrooms with a splash of olive oil and a splash of Bragg Liquid Aminos.
Melt Monterey Jack cheese in toaster oven on whichever bread you choose. A hearty bun, English Muffin, or just plain old sliced bread all do the trick.
To assemble the burger, spread crushed avocado on one side of the bread. Place the sprouts and carrots over the avocado, sprinkle with seasonings, and top with the sautéed mushrooms. Place the cheesy side of the bread on top, and there you have it, a scrumptious 'shroom burger!
Recipe Note
Shiitake mushrooms are best for this burger, as they are a bit more juicy and the most similar to meat.
