Fat Moon Farm is dedicated to providing the highest level of service to our customers whether you are buying Fat Moon Farm mushrooms and Fat Moon Farm products at famers markets, in CSAs, at local grocery stores, eating in our partner restaurants or online. Below are details of how we manage our online store and how we take care of our customers. Fat Moon Farm will not sell your personal information. We are in the business of selling high quality gourmet, organic mushrooms and other mushrooms products. Finding a Fat Moon Farm Product We hope that our website gives you access to Fat Moon Farm’s product line no matter where you are in the country. Due to the artisanal nature of some these products we may not always have what you are looking for. If you can’t find the product by browsing our categories, please contact us at email@example.com
Ordering a Fat Moon Farm Product
Our ordering system is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week throughout the year and is pretty simple:
- Let us know which Fat Moon Farm Mushroom Grow Kit(s) and/or Fat Moon Farm products you would like to order by adding it to your shopping cart
- Provide us with your billing address and the desired delivery address
- Indicate the type of shipping service you would like to use
- Enter your credit card information
- Submit your order
- Confirm your order
Please include any specific delivery instructions in the comments section.
On average, orders are processed and are shipped within 7 business days from the time that they are received. When items are unavailable or out of stock, shipment may be delayed until all items are in stock. Orders are NOT shipped overnight. We are not yet set up for faster delivery, even if you would like to pay for expedited service.
You will select your shipping method at checkout. Please keep in mind that the stated transit time for your order is an estimate. These times are in addition to Fat Moon Farm turnaround times. For example, expect that once Fed Ex picks up an order from our facility, it may take another 7 days to be delivered to you. While we expedite processing to the best of our ability, transit times are not guaranteed. Holiday and weather delays do occur, and are beyond our control.
Some of our products, in particular the Fat Moon Farm Mushroom Grow Kits, are perishable and require the greatest care. We pack these products to minimize the impact of the transit, but it is important that you take a few steps of your own upon receipt.
When placing your order, consider whether:
- you or the recipient will be available to receive the package at the shipping destination you provide. If not, adjust the delivery location so that it will be received it in a timely fashion. We cannot be responsible for packages that spoil due to the recipient being away from the delivery location.
- the address you give can accept mail/packages.
- someone will be able to begin the growing process within a reasonable time after delivery.
- the delivery destination is Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or other US territories. At this time, we only ship to addresses in the continental United States.
- the delivery destination is international. At this time, we only ship to addresses in the continental United States.
Upon receiving the package, unpack the box as soon as possible. Inspect the contents. If something seems amiss, contact us.
Fat Moon Farm does not accept returns or exchanges for the Fat Moon Farm Mushroom Grow Kits. The mushroom blocks are inoculated with living mycelium, meaning they are perishable. Do not send them back to us as too much time will have elapsed for them to be viable.
If you are not satisfied with the product you have received, please let us know as soon as possible so that we may take steps to address the problem.
We 100% guarantee that our Fat Moon Farm Mushroom Grow Kits will produce. The Fat Moon Farm Mushroom Grow Kits are a live product. All efforts are made to ensure the viable arrival of your grow kit, including 3-6 weeks of incubation and cold-shocking, if necessary. For greatest success, it is imperative you follow the care instructions available at www.fatmoonmushrooms.com/pages/instructions
If you have questions about how to start and care for your Fat Moon Farm Mushroom Grow Kits, check out the information on our website. You can also contact us by email. Our experienced support team will offer troubleshooting advice to help grow your own. If your grow kit still does not produce with the aid of our customer support, Fat Moon Farm will send a free replacement grow kit. While Fat Moon Farm does not offer refunds for grow kits, we will replace any defective, old, or stubborn mushroom kits with a brand new one.
If you believe you received the wrong product or that your Fat Moon Farm Grow Kit has been lost, contaminated, compromised in transit, has arrived damaged, or otherwise in need of replacement, contact us by email BEFORE beginning the grow.
- Your order number;
- What item(s) were received or missing;
- If you can, include a photo of the Grow Kit(s) and info about how it has been kept.
- If we shipped you the wrong Grow Kit, we will send a replacement at no cost to you.
We are mushroom farmers and we will be as responsive as possible, but we can’t guarantee that we will respond within 24 hours. While we do our best to investigate, please allow up to one week for resolution. Items reported missing will be either replaced or refunded if substantiated within 30 days from purchase.
Payment and Refunds
Fat Moon Farm online store payments are accepted via Shopify Payments. Shopify payments card processing service supports any U.S.-issued card and most non-U.S. issued cards with a Payment Network logo, including credit (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club), debit, or pre-paid.
We prefer to issue a refund in the same form of payment used to originally purchase the Fat Moon Farm grow kit. However, this may not always be possible. For example, if more than 30 days have passed since the original credit card transaction for an order, we may not be able to process a refund to the credit card. In this instance, we would issue a refund in the form of a check.
When credit card refunds are processed, please allow up to 5 business days for funds to be returned to your account. (This time may vary depending on the processing times required for various financial institutions.)
We do our very best to ensure that your package is delivered according to the timeframe you request in your order. However, Fat Moon Farm is not responsible for replacing or refunding packages nor can we take responsibility for delivery delays that are the result of:
- Inclement weather or “Acts of God”
- Incorrect delivery address provided with an order
- The order was redirected by the customer, or other compromised by customer choice or error
- The intended recipient is not available to receive the package
- The package being lost or stolen after delivery confirmation is received from our shipping carrier
- Your pet(s) destroys the package
Health and Safety
It is important to harvest your mushrooms before they reach full maturity and sporulate. Mushroom spores are everywhere and a small in-home exposure to a few mushroom spores won’t cause health problems. But in an abundance of caution, we want to you let you know that spores can cause mild respiratory irritation in some people.
For your health, best flavor, shelf life and appearance make sure you harvest before full maturity. View our product photos for an example of proper harvest time, or shoot us an email if you're not sure. As with any food, these mushrooms should be stored properly under refrigeration after harvest.
We are not liable if you choose to ignore this advice. We are not liable for any food borne illnesses associated with improper treatment of our products.
