Job Title: Operations Manager

Salary: $40,000 - 48,000 plus a performance bonus

Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

Are you the right person to lead our farm team to operational excellence? Our growing mushroom farm is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the various facets of our farm's operations. From cultivating and harvesting to packing and delivery, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations, staff management, and compliance with food safety standards. Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage day-to-day farm operations, including growing, harvesting, packing, and timely delivery of our premium mushrooms. Work alongside Farm Workers to ensure daily production goals are met.
Supervise and train production staff, ensuring they're equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for efficient and high-quality output.
Accountable for managing labor costs while optimizing productivity and quality.
Collaborate with the Production Manager for cultivation strategies and the Sales & Marketing Manager for packaging and delivery logistics. Provide back-up when these team members are on vacation.
Serve as the Organic Certification & Food Safety Manager, ensuring strict adherence to food safety regulations and maintaining organic certifications.
Conduct regular record-keeping for production, cleaning, staffing, and compliance data.
Procure necessary supplies and maintain relationships with vendors for grow blocks, packaging, and cleaning materials.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for production tasks.
Ensure a safe work environment for all staff and enforce safety protocols.

Additional Responsibilities:

Contribute to social media and communication efforts when needed.
Initiate experiments and improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Stay updated on food safety, GAP compliance, and regulatory standards.
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Fishbowl, Quickbooks, Google platform) and willingness to adapt and learn new systems.

Qualifications:

Availability to work weekends
3+ years of experience leading a team with ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of farm operations.
Proficiency in inventory and ERP software; ability to learn new systems.
Organizational prowess and exceptional time management skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to operate delivery vehicles.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds
